It was just 'too' hot outside and very dusty in the road with all the cars, buses and bikes passing by that I almost did not go teaching this afternoon. I had to. Even sometimes when it gets even hotter, my eyes go red and itchy from the dryness and what's so silly is I even kinda 'smell' my own skin like it's almost burnt.
I talked with a friend at school the other day (my student actually). We were talking about disasters at the time. He said that in his country Vietnam recently there was a twister and even an earthquake last year. He admitted such disasters never happened there, at least very rare. Even now they're getting used to the flood that keeps coming each time a big rain comes. He said life was different when he was in childhood which was nicer in this case. He and his friends used to be able to swim or dive in the river, but now it seems so impossible since the water has turned dark and dirty. There used to be fishes and big crabs in the river, but now they've all disappeared.
I'm afraid to deduce if it's to do with global warming. Is it just another phase of the Earth? Regarding it has passed so many phases mostly in the very beginning of its creation, such as Ice Age or even the huge explosion of Krakatau in 1813 that has made such significant difference to the Earth. Are we now just passing another phase of the Earth? The Earth is living and must be changing. There may be new islands just created or even lands that disappear. Maybe, who knows?
So, should we be 'that' worried about what's been happening lately to our mother Earth or not?
