... for having her five and seven year old kids listening to the song. Silly. Read what the Australian mum said below to get the general idea and before I continue this with my own opinion on this issue.
So if you still didn't get it, If You Seek Amy is one of Britney's songs in her newest album Circus. I'm not specifically talking about her or her album but I found this case quite interesting. So whoever wrote the song was pretty smart.
Here's the controversial lyric:
Now I'm sure you got what I mean.
I just thought it was interesting.
Now what I'd like to really talk about here is the Australian mum should not blame the lyric. Hell, her children she bought the CD for were only like 5 and 7 years old. Buy them what's more appropriate for them then! Not some adult musics. This is not like the first time Brit went naughty in her song. Just non-sense she's blaming the song that caused it being banned from being aired in the radio.
Buy your kids Sesame Street DVDs instead, lady! Or anything aimed for children so it will be full of happiness.
Ok, why was it so interesting to me? I study linguistics so to see If You Seek Amy was actually a spell out of F-U-C-K me was quite linguistical. Interesting. Smart.
Linguistics is Mathematics to me (hmm so what?)... so because I liked Maths back at school so I enjoy studying linguistics ;D ... don't worry you're not the only one confused 'cause I don't even know myself why I had to mention that.
"I was astonished and totally taken aback when I heard my five and seven year old kids walking around the house singing, ‘F-*-*-K. When I asked them what it was, they told me it was Britney Spears. I was horrified. And she's blaming the song? Because of her complaint the song has been banned to air in Australia and some states in the US regarding some complaint on the appropriate lyric for children.
"I got them the Circus album because little kids are Britney fans, but there was no warning on the album and none of the songs listed had F-*-*-K in the title.
"Listening to it, it is extremely blatant and offensive. I feel I have been deceived into believing that this was acceptable content for children but instead it is objectionable."

Here's the controversial lyric:
Love me hate meInstead of "F-U-C-K me" the writer played with the spelling a bit so it resulted If You Seek Amy (eff-u-see-kay-me). So, imagine in the lyric above if you change "If You Seek Amy" with "eff-u-see-kay-me".
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
But can't you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
...
So tell me if you've seen her
Cause I've been waiting here forever
Oh baby baby
If You Seek Amy tonight
Oh
Oh baby baby
We'll do whatever you like
Now I'm sure you got what I mean.
I just thought it was interesting.

In the Indonesian version Amy is replaced by Ayu.
Not a wise mum indeed!
Hehehe if Amy was replaced by Ayu it would be If You Seek Ayu or F-U-C-K you! Even in Indonesian version it could be controversial too.
man... I got to make a confession that I am actually pretty addicted to this song! And the isyouseekamy thing, man that's smart! Seriously, when I heard it for the very first time I didn't realize it until my friend told me and oooo... britney is a smart little girl! (okay, woman...)
Cool. When did you finally find out the anagram? long time before you read this?
Yea, the writer was pretty smart, have to admit that. Did Brit write it by herself?
Anyway Mei, indeed it was a not-wise reaction of hers. I mean maybe this case has also relation with so-called parenting? She showed a not very good way of parenting her children.
yep, quite a while ago when I sang this song, lol. Then my friend told me, and haha... I can't help but adore her once again.
so brit is finally back!
oh baby baby if you seek amy tonight....
wakakaka...
can't get the song out of my head recently... xD
Ouh...she doesn't have lots of wisdom huh! =/
Then again the mum is also justified in her concerns, there should be some warning of some kind of vulgarities used in the music album. Not everyone does know that Britney Spears is actually naughty, you can't really leave things to assumption sometimes.
If you seek Amy.... XD
