No party for 3110 this year (again)

.::HALLOWEEN::.

Not just this year but also the past almost 23 years. lol. Nope, not a single Halloween party I've ever attended or intended to hold. There's supposed to be one in my hometown tonight held by a few of not-so-close-friends, I was kind of invited from Facebook Events stuff but as I am not in my hometown at the moment so I can't sadly come.

I don't feel that bad though. It's become a used-to now. I hope next year Halloween will be the one I'll attend for the first time, or if not then let's see another year after that.

To be honest Halloween is not really a tradition in my country so it's never a huge deal to not celebrate it. If I was in the US it'd be a bit different or in some other countries like in South America maybe assuming they seem to like celebrating moments in a huge way and quite chaotically.

Even though it's not a tradition in my country, doesn't mean that we don't celebrate it with the same way they do in the US where Halloween is mostly celebrated among other countries. I remember a friend of mine back in my childhood in Borneo telling me that she used to go around the houses during the Halloween night with a bunch of other kids when she was a little girl doing the Trick or Treat thingy. I then realized that the culture had been fairly spread all over since a long time ago. Well the houses we lived in my childhood were some also occupied by foreigners from different western countries so we kind of got culturally influenced by the same age kids from those families by hanging around them. Speaking of which, I remember one childhood friend from France which is now doing some TV shows and commercials for quite big brands in Jakarta. We went to the same swimming pool where I had swimming practice.

Maybe if it's not been my good luck to attend a Halloween party in my entire life (shame I know), then I think I should throw one for the next 3110s. I'll have to consider it carefully so it can happen and I won't miss it again.

Hope you all have a great Halloween night tonight! Have fear!

Hunting a scary place

.::HALLOWEEN::.

Halloween is one night away! This would be my first time to have Halloween overseas. I am in between whether I can celebrate it or not regarding I haven't found a good place yet to have the party and also a place in where the drinks are not so expensive as I am pretty out of cash at the moment.

Even though I am excited to have a Halloween party I have not actually prepared myself with any Halloween themed costume or makeup. I'm not really looking for places like night clubs that actually hold a Halloween party as well as use the moment to gain more visitors to just have drinks, dances and miss the Halloween 'spirit' in casual cloths rather than scary costumes and bloody makeup regardless I am not prepared with the costumes myself.

Let's see.

They are suffering even much more..

I just heard the news about the big earthquake in Pakistan few moments ago. Here I'd like to share it with you by quoting the important details (source: Yahoo news).
QUETTA, Pakistan -A powerful earthquake in southwest Pakistan killed at least 160 people early Wednesday, destroying mud homes and sending survivors screaming into the streets in panic.
Most of the deaths were in outlying villages, as mud houses were destroyed and the tremors triggered landslides of rocks and boulders while people slept in their beds.

In Quetta, the nearest big town, witnesses said people fled screaming from their homes. Television footage showed many outside in the streets, wrapped up against the early morning chill.

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 5:09 am and measured 6.2, later revising that magnitude up to 6.4. The Pakistan Meteorological Office put it as 6.5.

The epicentre was located some 70 kilometres north of Quetta in Baluchistan province, about 185 kilometres southeast of the Afghan city of Kandahar, they added.

A friend of mine who told me this news told me that the temp at night in Pakistan at the moment is about 2 degree celcius. I just can't imagine how those victims having lost their homes would survive in such deeply cold temp outside and how they're gonna suffer.

That reminds me of myself. I am thinking that the toothache that I have now is nothing compared to their suffer. So, I might not need to complain about it.

Suffering so badly..

I could hardly sleep last night. I did fall asleep but kept awakened up many times during the night and morning. I've had a toothache..

This has become a regular ache since a couple months ago, started when I bit something hard that broke a bit of my tooth and left a hole. I keep forgetting seeing a dentist to fix it and now it seems I have to pay off. It's so horrible. Each time I touch the tooth or chew something solid it hurts like hell. So, I've been struggling to eat since this morning. I am thinking to see a dentist when it gets over to pull the tooth off. Or maybe discuss first what's best.

I had a hot tea tarik earlier and that helped a bit. I feel a little bit better even though it still feels like an angry and sensitive volcano close to shooting lava from its hole. It doesn't want to be touched and insists to be alone.

I'll try drinking more warm/hot tea to see if they really help. If not, then I might have to see a dentist here. Well I hope a good sleep will help too tonight.

Hate it, missed the big celebration..

Today is Diwali day. In Singapore the day is mostly celebrated by Indians. Based on that fact I went to Little India this evening expecting I'd see the big celebration (story about Diwali and Little India read here).

Once I got there I was a bit surprised. I saw nothing going on. Nothing special. Everything was just like normal apart from the hanging decorations.

"Oh, this is exactly like few days ago the last time I was here. Nothing is really going on. Where's the celebration??"

I walked and kept on walking on the sidewalk passing by Indian stores, restaurants, women in saree/sari/shari, a big crowded Hindu temple, and a big board at the end of my walk. I crossed the road to come closer to it. For the second time, I got surprised. This time a bigger disappointment involved.

"What? Have I missed it??!"

As written on the board it said that the big main celebration was going to be held on Oct 2oth which is like over a week ago! How could it be celebrated one week before the actual celebration day?

I'd been really expecting to see this celebration as I knew it would have been quite big as Indians can sometimes be quite eccentric and 'loud'. As you can see on the pictures of the board the whole schedule for the celebrations had been set up before today.

Well, in the end, it was a good lesson for me to get more prepared for the next year's Diwali celebration (hopefully).

Happy Diwali!

My own Obama Campaign banner with video

I just made my own Obama Campaign banner with video that I put on the top of the page during the presidential period in the US as my own way to support him as I cannot vote from my country. I might need to update the video in the banner from time to time regarding Obama's campaign video update as well on Youtube.

If you like the banner and want it on your blog or website, also if you don't know how to grab a HTML code from a website, just simply email Rad and I'll share the HTML code through email as I am still struggling how to disable a HTML code to put it on as a copyable normal text. Once you get the HTML code you can modify the text or video or whatever you want.

I eat rubber with dumb

Have I become a scatter?!!

Ok, I was joking -not purely tho'. I had a very new-to-me and unique noodle a couple of days ago. It was essentially made of sweet potato instead of sweat flour. It has the rubber texture. Very chewy and rubbery if I have to call that. The color was fine, not really the color of rubber which is dark. Instead, it was light and transparent gray kind of color. Again, the texture that is like rubber.

Anyway to explain the pictures above, I indeed was gagged up to my throat when seeing what happened after I squeezed out the noodle's seasonings. They shaped so like dumb! in a ewww-ly perfect way. Really really perfect! They only missed one thing, the dumb smell, otherwise I really ate dumb. (Yay! scatters must get horny reading this. lol) I laughed and couldn't stop looking at them. I quickly took my phone and shot them which then obviously posted them here :D Ok, here's a couple of proof pictures that they were real noodle seasonings so you won't gag too much.

Enjoy your du... oh I mean, meal!

UNRELATED ADDITION
I don't think I'll post a new post just to share this picture with you (too short) so I just put it here. I found this this ridiculous hanger thingy in one tool shop near the apartment. I accidentally found it and took a picture. Enjoy!

Happy Deepavali

Few days ago I went to Little India (obviously the India's version of Chinatown) in Singapore for a small dinner while walking my feet on the ground rather than just sitting at the computer blogging. Once I got there I saw colorful decorations hanging crossing the roads saying "Happy Deepavali" (or more commonly in English called Diwali). The hangings were not like only 3 or 5 but endless. As long as my eyes could see I didn't see the end of these beautiful and colorful hangings. I tried and knew that my phone camera which happened to be in my pocket at the time was never good enough to capture anything even with flash or small lights in darkness. As you can see obviously on the night view to the left.

I thought I didn't want to miss these pretty decorations in my blog so the next day or two I went back to the same place to buy some things and not to forget to take better pictures of the gigantic hangings during the day with better lights. Although I prefer night lights which are more alive in captured pictures.

So, Deepavali, or also well known as The Festival of Lights, is, according to my Hindu friend, almost 5 months after the Day of Silence or in Bali it is called Nyepi (still unsure what it is in English) in Hindu's tradition where during Deepavali people go with colors and lights while during Nyepi they go very silent with nothing at all including musics or noise but the silence. So, roughly it can be said that Deepavali is pretty much the opposite of Nyepi.

Anyway, most of Indians are Hindu (although some are also Muslims) so that's why Little India was related to Deepavali celebration, which is gonna be celebrated tomorrow in Singapore!

Almost give up on 3D images

A couple days ago I went seeing a visual art display in one university near the apartment. It's a 3D art as normally where they display confusing and a bit abstract images for us to guess what is really beneath them. At that time they displayed like 20 images. The display was quite crowded with students and some school staff, I think. It was indeed attractive. I had just finished my lunch and was on my way to the bus stop when my eyes caught this cool art display.

At first I came close to one image. I knew it was gonna be something that we should guess or see beneath the 3D image. It was not easy at all! I moved for another image and kept going on going around the display from one picture to another one as I was almost giving up from not being able to guess any single image beneath the image displayed. I had read the instruction how to solve the 3D images glued on the board. I did follow the instruction carefully.
"Get your nose very close to the center of the image. Stare one spot on the image and slowly move backward. Keep staring the spot and let your eyes focus on the image as the 'real' image finally shows up"
Roughly like that. I modified it a bit but not made up. Anyway, so I couldn't solve any single image displayed. They still looked so confusing to me. I was not alone. There were some other people complaining too what to see beneath those images. Some laughed, some other left giving up.

When I just almost fed up with those images and was ready to go to the bus stop. I read something on the board. Something like "Cross Eyes".

Huuuh? Are you kidding me? So, that is all about? That we need to cross our eyes to see what's beneath the 3D images?! Aaaa... it took me like 30mins of nothing going around the display hopelessly moving from one image to another one. And that's just all about crossing our eyes?? I felt so stupid I didn't see that very important instruction.

Every image went so smoothly and easily after that. I crossed my eyes, focused them on the image and got the real image beneath the image displayed. I got strangely very excited to go over the same images to see the real 3D images again. When some people realized the key to see the real images, they ended up the same like me -laughing happy. Haha.. I felt stupid for a while.

It was real 3D. You don't always have to keep your eyes crossed when you already catch the real image, it will show up magically, I have to say. The real images appear with volume (length, width, depth -you can see that they have layers). Before you cross your eyes, the images have a 2 dimensioned, confusing, a bit abstract look. After you have your eyes crossed and can catch the real image, those images become 'magical', totally more attractive. Yet, you will keep coming to the same images over and over to see the magic of 3D.

Bad news is after more than 30mins crossing my eyes looking at the images, I couldn't stop focusing. It took me quite a while to re-adjust my eyes to normal -not crossed!.

It was fun, pretty entertaining and obviously eyes-exercising.

Wanna try? It should be easy now for you as I have given you some details of how to solve a 3D image. Good luck! (Remember, get your eyes crossed and if still difficult get them closer to the screen and slowly move your head back)

See a Dino? No? try harder!

What do you see this time? Lame if you can't solve this one! -JK! ;-p

This one is a bit difficult, but I've got the answer for you.

This one here is easy to see but not to guess. I don't know what picture beneath the patern of this image. Help?

Anyway those pictures above are apparently called Magic Eye pictures.

1st Monthly Review [355]

The above map depicts: 355 visits from 21 Sep 2008 to 22 Oct 2008
This map is normally updated daily (latest: 2008-10-22 06:17:09 GMT)

This blog has been around for more than one year but only one month ago I put this ClustrMaps widget onto this blog to see how many visitors have visited the site from time to time. Here I am now making a monthly review of how many visitors there have been since one month ago. According to ClustrMaps there have been 355 visits from many areas around the world.

Only one thing I am still wondering, is it true that I've got some visitors from the US and also around Europe apart from those from Asia and some other countries indicated by the small red spots on the map above. I am not that surprised with the three big red spots in the area of South East Asia as I live there/here (all displayed on the map above, just give it a click). But what about the other three big spots in the US (mostly somewhere around New York, California and [I guess] New York State?) and one in north UK? Is it true that they've viewed my blog that often based on the definition of that big red spot which means 10-99 visits? It might be only 10 or so clicks but If it's true then I am honestly proud (well I work on this blog on my own from obviously the postings to the design, so having visitors from the US makes me pretty proud) and very happy with that. :D [my head starts getting bigger now...]

Just hope someday this blog will finally be carefully viewed and admired by the Americans! Yay, love America! :D Go, Obama! Make this world a better place to live! -if McCain and Palin win the election, I will stop blogging. But I know that sort of silly thing is so not gonna happen, otherwise the voters are dumber than.. Palin! I know they're not.

Bored with life? Want something gross, stupid but ... fun?

Maybe this guy would help to solve your sadness, broken heart, emo or whatever that makes you so bored and sad (you know, emo = sad-oh-life-is-so-miserable way of thinking! a bit lame, sorry). The following videos are taken from MediocreFilms a Youtube member. The joke might not be funny to you but it is to me. I didn't laugh out loud but it was enough to cheer me up. A bit difficult to explain, just check the vids totally out!

Underage Girls [highly recommended! my most fave scene]

Assburgers Syndrome

Nalts

Assuming you have watched those videos, I'd like to say I like it when the policeman knocks on the girl's head checking if there's a brain and also a scene when the guy has an assburgers syndrome which is really gross.. oh wait my most fave is the underage girls one "Zaccc... Vanessa Hudgen is a dirty whore!" Haha.. poor her.

Hope you enjoyed them and got entertained. Bye-eeeee

Sorry, Sir, the beach has been stolen

"Where's the beach?" asks a guy who loves to spend most of his day time at his fave beach but gets disappointed 'cause he can't locate it!
"Sorry, Sir, it's been stolen," says the beach former owner.

Yes, a beach has been stolen! It happened in Jamaica.

"That's so gay!"

is one of other bullying expressions that you should stop saying or using in any way. So knock it off. I am here supporting the anti-Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgenders name-calling, bullying and harassment to help those who have problems with their classmates or anyone treating them badly. I just saw a couple ads videos on Youtube about what you should realize when saying something is gay when you mean it's bad, dumb or stupid because gay doesn't refer to such meaning. That is an insult to do that. Not only the word gay but also other mis-used words like fag or dyke, which I will put in a list a bit later in this post. Here are the ads and give few mins of your oh-so busy time to watch the vids, they're kind of fun too in an educated way .

I visited some supporting websites where related events are held such as Day of Silence, Ally Week, TransAction. Those events are under GLSEN education organization. There is also another organization called ThinkB4YouSpeak.com where people like us are aimed to realize what they say and obviously to think before they speak. Here's a quotation from the campaign.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) teens experience homophobic remarks and harassment throughout the school day, creating an atmosphere where they feel disrespected, unwanted and unsafe. Homophobic remarks such as “that’s so gay” are the most commonly heard; these slurs are often unintentional and a common part of teens’ vernacular. Most do not recognize the consequences, but the casual use of this language often carries over into more overt harassment.

This campaign aims to raise awareness about the prevalence and consequences of anti-LGBT bias and behavior in America’s schools. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce and prevent the use of homophobic language in an effort to create a more positive environment for LGBT teens. The campaign also aims to reach adults, including school personnel and parents; their support of this message is crucial to the success of efforts to change behavior.

There was a very tragic incident that happened to a openly gay 15-year old Lawrence King (Larry King) (full story here) who was shot in the head by his own classmate Brandon McInerney during the class in the lab. He was killed because he was gay. Apparently, King asked McInerney to be his Valentine in front of McInerney's friends. When McInerney endured teasing because of the incident, he told one of King's friends to say goodbye because she would never see him King again.

That incident kind of woke up thousands of schools obviously along with the students in the US to participate such events and campaign that I just mentioned earlier. Here's a couple of story and video about the kid's death impact to other students.

Ellen Degeneres Show

Students from more than 7,500 middle and high schools will take a vow of silence today during GLSEN's 12th annual National Day of Silence to bring attention to anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) name-calling, bullying and harassment. The event is being held this year in memory of Lawrence King, a 15-year-old from Oxnard, Calif., who was shot and killed in school on Feb. 12 because of his sexual orientation and gender expression.

Hundreds of thousands of students are expected to participate, from middle school to college. Students from more than 1,000 colleges also have registered.

"Because of what happened to Lawrence King, it put into perspective what can happen and the hardships that student face," said Sarah Barnett, a high school student from Omaha, Neb., and member of the GLSEN Jump-Start National Student Leadership Team. "The Day of Silence is important because it's a chance to spread respect in a positive manner."

Students from the University of Virginia created the Day of Silence in 1996. GLSEN became national sponsor in 2001.

During the Day of Silence, students take some form of a vow of silence, often daylong, and hand out speaking cards to explain why they are not speaking. The day has taken on particular importance this year because of Lawrence King's murder. www.glsen.org

Gimme them back!

(or Gimme'em back? 'cause them is sometimes shortened and becomes 'em..)

Oh anyway, hi! I lost some things few days ago. Some valuable things to be exact. Some valuable things like songs, games, photos, videos to be even more exact. They were all saved in my cell.

Few days ago I found a good video on Youtube and downloaded it so I thought I could transfer it in to my cell phone and play it anytime I want without having to get connected to the internet to open Youtube. At the time I had already some downloaded videos and musics plus cool games in there and wanted to add one more music video. Usually I transfer all the extra stuff (songs, games, videos) by using the connector cable or a bluetooth receiver from the pc connected to my cell back in my home which is not where I am currently staying at now. This was my first time to transfer a file by using a card reader. So I took my memory card out of the cell and slid it in the card reader attached to the laptop. The card was read by the system. I was happy it worked so far. Then I copied and pasted the downloaded music video I wanted to have in my cell. It didn't want to do the transfer. It refused to transfer. I stopped for a while thinking what was probably going wrong. I gave it few mins to refresh and re-plug in and out the memory card.

Then an idea came across my mind. What if I format the memory card so it will be like a brand new one by saving all the content of the card by copying and pasting them in My Document in the laptop. I managed to do that. It seemed to be working as after I formatted the card I successfully transferred the music video in to my memory card. I then checked it from the cell video gallery folder but didn't find it saved there. Checked every other folder, it was still no where. I put the card back in to the laptop to check if the video was going to be shown from the laptop and yes it was there. Strangely I couldn't see it from my cell. Strange.

I gave up. I thought it was just the video that might not have a suitable type of file so it could not be played or even shown from my cell. I finally decided to move every old thing in my cell, the games, the songs, the every old thing I used to have in my cell. They were successfully pasted but... bad news. Same thing happened, the cell would not read the card. So whatever I tried putting in to my cell would not appear from my cell.

The next day after I left the problem overnight, I realized something. I realize I cannot just copy and paste or transfer anything in to my cell without installing the driver first. Transferring some files out of my memory card in to the pc is always possible but not otherwise (without installing the driver first).

Anyway, although I got the solution, I am just still a bit pissed off to make such silly mistake that I should have been conscious with before.
It's fine now tho'.

So.. will need to transfer everything back once I get back home in a couple of weeks using my pc at home where the driver is properly installed there. Miss my Tiny Ninja game.. lol

Too much sleep causes less sleep?

It's the middle of the night, 1am to be exact and I can't fall asleep. I had an extra sleep in the late morning and another late nap this afternoon -so much sleep today. I've actually been so ill in my head. It's been dizzy since yesterday night. Not to mention my snotty itchy nose. I've had flu for more than a week now. I admit I have not taken a medicine neither for the flu or the headache. I just don't have it and keep thinking it will get over by itself soon enough (as usual). I know that is not always right to think like that 'cause when the illness gets even worse I'll regret not having taken a medicine to try to cure it. If this dizziness is still there in my head, I'll need to get a medicine tomorrow.

Having had much sleep today causes me not be able to sleep early tonight (right now). I know my eyes and body are tired but I can't really push myself to fall asleep. My only concern now if I don't have enough sleep/rest I'm afraid I'll feel worse tomorrow. A friend of mine suggested me to meditate if I can't fall asleep by closing my eyes and just laying in bed. I said if I could do a porn meditation, meaning, meditating by imagining something porn. Hehe. I was only joking and please don't think I'm really gonna do such meditation.

Hoping tomorrow I'll get better so I can do things I need to do. See ya! and hope you all are doing just fine out there.

PS: Anyway anyway anyway, I just managed to change my website icon. It used to be the Blogger capital B icon and I changed it to a bit more personal with my own simple design. It is so small that you probably can't see what it really is clearly. Well this is the real image in a better size.

Criminal me

I would like to make a confession here for something that I stole. It happened about one month ago in a friend's room. I stole his money.

I was using his laptop to check some emails while waiting to go out. I was pretty bored so I looked around the desk and saw some Ringgits on it (notes and coins). There was like more than 100 Ringgits. I don't know what really crossed my mind at the time. The devil in my mind said to take some Ringgits when I was just about to leave. I saw the money and quickly took it. I did leave some behind 'cause I knew I would not need that much. I took about RM70. I left and converted the money to Sing Dollar at one shopping mall nearby. I admit I used the converted money to go to Chinese Garden as also I was kind of out of money.

That was few weeks ago and just yesterday he asked me about his losing Ringgit and if I'd seen it somewhere. I then pushed myself to confess to him that I took it. I told him everything when, how and why I took it. He forgave me in the end. I was really embarrassed and totally speechless. I am not that criminal who likes stealing something that doesn't belong to me. But I do admit sometimes an evil thought comes across my mind to do something evil as well.

I'd really like to say sorry to you, my friend. This is why I am making this post so that you know how sorry I am. Thank you so much for having forgiven me and still wanting to be friends with me :)

Next time I wanna steal your money, I'll tell you in advance! -joking lah! ;-)

Not suitable for minors

I understand not all of you likes why I put this video here but Britney is just pretty -in a naughty way ;-) Here's a video not-suitable-for-minors (maybe) of the newest one from Britney called Womanizer (the song has been around Youtube since months ago but the vid was just released days ago). Just quoted from Youtube.

Enjoy her sexiness as I did! lol

Anyway I read one quite silly comment to the vid :

IanbodybuilderIII
WAU!!! Unbeliverbal! She looks so good! Especially as the limmo driver and the red haired woman. She is realy back! Nice video...and finally also a naked man, yes!
What's silly to me is whether the person giving that comment was a guy (and finally also a naked man, yes! ??) sweet!

A little bit different this time

Back to Singapore after two weeks in Yogyakarta (more details in my Singapore blog :) Please have a visit or more!). My flight to Singapore last Saturday was a bit different with the one before that. It was not the routes as I took the same ones which were a flight from Yogyakarta to Jakarta followed by another flight from Jakarta to Batam which was finally ended by a boat trip from Batam to Singapore. The routes were not different. It was the time and also some other things. Before this time I flew in the late afternoon and ended up arriving in Singapore in the late evening. The result, I could see nothing much but the dark sky and the ground with its tiny ants-sized lights from the houses and cars. What made last flight different was that I had a quite early morning flight. Got to wake up by 4.30am to get prepared and flew within the next 3 hours. It was different not in a bad way to be frank. I liked it better. The first flight to Jakarta was just nothing much so special except I could almost locate my house which was quite easy as it is located near my big noticable uni. The following flight was the one that was impressing me quite much. The sky was super cloudy so it was not only once the air crew strongly adviced us to stay seated and not use the toilets due to a bad weather. Everything was going just fine in the end. When near Batam, I got very impressed. The sky was not so cloudly at the time and the result was a very clear and nice view of the big island of Sumatera with its raw forests and other smaller nearby islands. Not the entire island but only a part of the North-East edge of it. Not to mention the unique colors of the sea indicating its unique depth (green, light blue, dark blue). It was just beautiful. And also just when about to land, the plane was kind of passing another smaller sized air plane. I'd never really seen another air plane flying while in one before. I was not impressed with that as there's supposed to be nothing to be impressed with about that. But it was just my first time seeing another air plane flying by while I was in one as well, if you know what I mean.

After the air trips, it was turn for the water one -as I've mentioned above that I took a boat from Batam to Singapore. It was nice I could see the water splashed by the speeding boat and lots of big container ships. I just fancy big things. Big cars, bikes, ships, not to mention a big plasma television! lmao! .. oh and also cells with a big screen where one can watch movies and play high res games instead of just making phone calls and texts. :) -speaking of my own fave Samsung i450. Although iPhone Apple will have to be the next one to be my own fave! lol (sorry a little bit out of the main topic). Anyway that was all I wanted to share this time. Hope you enjoyed your holiday as well!

Even newer look!

Yes, even newer look now! What do you guys think? I modified the design just last night. Again, I made the banner even thinner. A very good friend of mine gave me an advice telling me that it is better to have a small banner if you have a website so if it is opened with a mobile phone the banner won't dominate the screen, although it has to be attractive as well. So I tried to make it smaller but (hopefully) more attractive now.

Try to check my other pages whose links are located right on the banner (no longer below it). I put an unique main color on each page.

  • Blog - purple
  • S'pore - light green
  • Papua - yellow
  • Gallery - blue
  • Travel - brown

No, I didn't make him cry

Introducing my nephew, Ekevu Zende, with his mama.

He was playing with the keyboard while my sister was busy looking for some stuff in the internet. What I did was helping my sister stop him from touching the keyboard. He just ended up crying. So I am innocent :D

Rad Returns

No no it's not a title of a movie like Batman Returns or even Mummy Returns cause I have never been to Egypt. I am returning to Singapore this weekend. It's not for a long time, only for a couple of weeks. I have something to do there and it's pretty important for my future life.

Just wish me luck! I'll be back with more details when I am there as I also need to update my Singapore blog back during my stay there.

My voice's gone..

I lost my voice this morning. I have had cold since days ago. I was down at the moment so I caught a cold quite easily. This has been horrible. It was started from my itchy nose which then became snotty. And then my throat. It's been so sore. I cough a lot and that even makes me worse cause it hurts a bit when coughing. And this morning I lost my voice, I can't barely talk.

The nice thing is .. a friend of mine from Korea who rents a room in my house gave me a couple of medicines. She gave me one traditional Korean medicine and a pack of Corn tea. The first medicine tasted a bit bitter as it is as believed made of natural herbs. The second one tasted much nicer. Well I know tea is not really a medicine but when I feel sick like this everything drunk that is drunk very rarely is considered medicine. I think that's reasonable. But I'm not talking about alcoholic drinks, unless they really help. I think I fancy one glass of very light beer now. I think I know where to get one, but not here badly. There's only one place and I know the producer very very well :D

Anyway, as my way of thanking her for having given me the 'medicines' I decided to take a couple of pictures to put them in my blog and share with everyone here.

Happy exotic Id

As everyone knows that today (1st of Oct, 2008) is the Id day or what ppl commonly call Hari Raya "Great Day". It is indeed a great day for Muslims -as great as Christmas for Christians for a simple comparison regardless the tradition and everything else during the celebration. The Id is celebrated right after one full month of fasting when no Muslim is supposed to eat, drink, have any sexual activity, get over emotional from the sunrise until the sunset (except for countries where the Sun rises and sets at random or unusual times such as in the Antarctic where the Muslims fasting follow the Mecca time for the breakfast (eating-drinking before the sunrise) and break fast (eating-drinking after the sunset) -thanks to my very good and close friend for having shared this info). Because sometimes the sunrise and sunset time can be so ridiculous in certain countries or areas. Anyway the fasting month has its proper name, Ramadhan. Guess it sounds pretty familiar to your ears.

Back to the post title. Exotic this time? Yea, this year I went to my grandma's somewhere far from home. 2 and a half hours by a normal-speed-car and without traffic. The village is exotic. Like other villages in this world, it's never like living in a town where the houses or even the people living in the village tend to be different with their own style and originality. It's the originality of village life that is exotic to me. I spent the great day in the village where my grandma lives. I sure took some pictures, like I never did 8-)

My around-90s yo grandma

"Public" toilet and well -no matter how many times ppl say to me that it's for public, I'll never use it. Looks too 'public' to me..

Posing in front of one of my aunts' house in the same village as my grandma's

Check out how bright the rice field is.. yea bright!!.
The rice has turned its color into white from supposedly light green. Too dry..

As I'm already grown up -physically maybe, but not emotionally ;-)- I didn't get any money from anyone when gathering in my granny's house. I used to get some from some of my aunts. Not this time.. I'm glad though. I have been considered a big independent guy. That's huge to me!

Before I end this post, I'd like to frankly say that there was something missing during the 'celebration' today. It's not literally something but .. someone. Sorry we couldn't have the day together, I would have loved to have it with you if we could and I believe you knew that from the text I sent to you. Selamat Hari Raya personally to you!
